OEM Graphics FAQs
-
What are OEM graphics & who uses them?
OEM graphics are visual elements designed, produced, and applied to products made by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). These graphics are functional, regulatory, and brand-related.
Designed specifically for the manufacturer’s product and integrated during manufacturing or assembly, OEM graphics are often custom-engineered to meet regulatory, environmental, and durability requirements and must fit precisely and function reliably within the OEM’s design parameters and production processes.
-
Why do OEM graphics last longer? Can your labels withstand our operating environment?
Simply put, because they have to! OEM graphics are critical to a product’s function, safety, and brand integrity, and are often expected to endure just as long as the equipment itself. Graphics that last are a necessity for parts, products and processes with long product life cycles, safety and compliance regulations, traceability and identification guidelines, environmental exposure conditions, and branded longevity.
Yes. From discovery conversations with you, we conceive your particular solution based on the requirements of your production line or application.
-
What are polycarbonate & graphic overlays and what are their uses?
If you are looking for a printed option that is strong enough to withstand a variety of conditions, polycarbonate/graphic overlays is the solution for you. Printing is done on the backside, protecting the graphic from scratching and wear, making these great for keypads, remote controls, electronic devices, signage, control panels, instrument faceplates and product decoration. These unique and durable overlays increase the visual appeal and enhance your completed product.

Do you offer prototypes or samples for testing? What testing standards do your labels meet?
Yes. Either existing samples that meet desired specs, or R&D production runs for custom testing.
Our labels meet or exceed our materials vendors’ proven industry requirements for durability, adhesion, and other critical properties, accompanied by any essential documentation.
-
Can you customize label shape, size, material, and adhesive for our surfaces?
Of course! From discovery sessions with you and your team, which may include site visits, we can examine the appropriate mix of sizes, shapes and adhesives that integrate seamlessly with your application requirements.
We also offer different label construction (e.g. metal, polycarbonate, vinyl, domed, etc.). Based on your custom requirements, we’ll spec a recommendation and the criteria on which it’s based.
We also have special adhesives for most powder-coated surfaces, including textures. For low-energy or hard-to-stick surfaces, we’ll work with you to determine what adhesive may offer the best solution.
-
Can you handle low-volume or high-volume runs? What are your lead times?
Yes, we can. Here, no two jobs are the same. We have the resources flexibility – both in talent and equipment – to accommodate all volumes of runs.
Contingent on the project’s scope/parameters and objectives – including but by no means limited to design, testing, volume, versioning, and shipping/logistics – our lead times will vary. For standard runs absent out-of-the-ordinary characteristics, many of our jobs deliver within 10 working days.
-
Do you offer inventory management or just-in-time (JIT) delivery options?
Yes, we do. Realizing customers don’t just need product, but product their way, we can develop and operate a custom program so you get what you want, when you want it.
-
Do you have ISO certification or similar quality systems/processes in place?
Yes, we are ISO 9001 & AS 9100 registered, including the AS9100D aerospace standard for manufacturing of screen, digital, pad, offset, and Metalphoto® printing. We take great pride in our ability to offer these high standards to our customers.
We strictly follow these established guidelines for quality control systems. We continually examine and audit specific performance processes to manage deviation and maximize quality standards.
We can also provide our Certificates of Conformance or Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
-
What is your return/replacement policy for defective labels?
We have a detailed process for vendor returns that identifies what transpired, the cause, and corrective action. Bottom line, we’re happy when you’re happy.
-
Can you help with design, engineering support, and revisions?
We work hand-in-hand with engineers on a daily basis to formulate solutions early on in the design phase. While we do not develop engineering drawings or specifications, we receive and interpret them every day to ensure we’re meeting or exceeding spec while raising any concerns or challenges before production begins.
We understand change is inevitable. So we are built to accommodate necessary changes as they come to us, including engineering change orders (ECOs).
-
Do you offer kitting, bundling, or part labeling services?
We certainly do! Our goal is to get you what you need, how you need it, so your operations are smooth and streamlined. Using Lean, we develop custom programs that prepare your finished products just the way you need them, every time.
-
Who will be my point of contact?
While you will enjoy a full team at your disposal, your primary point of contact will be a Customer Service Representative that works in tandem with your dedicated Sales Consultant. In turn, those professionals work hand-in-hand with subject matter experts in production, operations, purchasing, estimating, scheduling, quality, logistics, and accounting.
